SURGERIES: I have had two hip surgeries and a spinal fusion. I have a hands on experience how to help rehab from specific surgeries because of my own experience. Spending so much time with orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists have taken my yoga therapy training to another level. I believe my work is the next step you need to take after these surgeries when your physical therapist gives you the release. I run and jump ,practice yoga and do everything I did when I was younger.THese surgeries have not taken away anything from my life just given me more knowledge to help others on their journey.

EMPLOYMENT & EXPERIENCE

National Yoga Institute: Santa Monica, CA  - September 2008 – Present

Run Teacher Training Program: My teacher training program focuses on presenting students with the proper tools for discovering their own
personal direction as a future yoga teacher.  In learning all the various styles of yoga, and with regard for their own personal strengths and
practice, my program guides students in deciding not only which style they want to focus, but also to whom they want to teach.  Program
consists of...

Yoga Practice  -

  • Learning to develop and deepen a daily asana practice while increasing strength, flexibility, stamina, and balance

Anatomy  -

  • Study focus of the text ‘Anatomy in Movement’, learning an anatomical language suitable for teaching
  • Learning proper Iyenger alignment (very strong focus, especially for my “Yoga for Dancers” teacher training); and learning to receive
    and perform hands-on adjustments

Yoga philosophy –

  • Learn about the ancient texts to help deepen the knowledge of yoga

Meditation –

  • Utilizing Pranayama (breath) to create an inward focus for deeper levels of awareness and balance in the     mind and body
